Mountain Man Breakfast

Time
Prep Time: 10 min Cook Time: 45 min Total Time: 55 mins
Ingredients
  • 1/2 pound Cooked bacon
  • 1/2 pound Cooked sausage
  • 2 pounds Frozen has browns (dehydrated hash browns work well too)
  • 1 pound grated cheddar
  • 1 Dozen eggs
  • 1 jar Salsa
Instructions
  1. Start with preheating a 12" dutch oven with 9 coals on the bottom and 15 on top. This is a dump and go, it's best to use bacon, sausage, and onions that were cooked at home and brought to camp in a bag. Start out with a little butter and hash browns in the bottom. Let those toast up for about 15-20 minutes. Once they start to get a little crispy scramble the dozen eggs in a separate container and pour the mixture over the has browns. Throw in the bacon, sausage and onion mix. Top with cheese. Cover and cook until the eggs are set (about 15 minutes) rotate the top lid and dutch oven every 3-5 minutes. Serve with optional tortillas and salsa.

Note

Nothing better than a simple breakfast on a Saturday morning to get fueled up and get to your activity quickly. The mountain man breakfast is quick and easy and if you line your dutch oven with tinfoil before starting a quick clean up. This recipe is basically a quiche so you can throw in any leftovers and it will be guaranteed to be good. This is also one of those recipes that unless you run off to play frisbee for an hour and forget to check on it it just comes out good every time.
